Mindful Bee · starting in Bradford, and growing nationwide · a project we’re building
Mindful Bee Café
Dear friend,
We’re creating a coffee shop with Polish street food, a warm corner in Bradford, growing nationwide, that isn’t rushing you anywhere.
This place is meant to stop time. Not forever. Just enough. It’s about the here and now: what this day already held matters; what hasn’t happened yet doesn’t get to steal the table.
When the doors eventually open, the people behind the counter will listen, and they will try to help, with a plate, a quiet seat, a kind word. No performance. No programme. Just welcome.
What we’re building

At the heart of Mindful Bee is a café idea with Polish soul on the menu: pierogi, bigos, kiełbasa in a soft bun, placki, sernik, pączki. Street food made with care, served without hurry.
Beside the café plan sits a future food truck with the same Polish street food, so the table can sometimes come to the street, when the project is ready.
Mindful Bee is meant to be a third place, not a church and not a clinic. We hope Dharma will be the main thread: talks by Buddhist monks and practitioners, and a careful look at what we call ‘I’ and ‘mine’ (anatta, non-self), never as therapy. We’d also love to host talks from faiths other than Buddhism, at the same table. You can leave. You can be silent. You can only eat.
Kitty Corner, the apiary, and gentle drum circles live in the same vision: soft company, nature, rhythm. They are part of what we’re building, not a Saturday booking you can make today.
I’m a beekeeper, and the apiary is planned for next season. Off-season, we’d love to run candle-making classes with wax from our own hives, and when the café exists, we plan to sell honey and other goods from the hives there. Soon, not yet.
A community interest company, planned

We plan to register FunGuyMe / Mindful Bee as a community interest company. Alongside that, we are planning BeeBase and exploring grants that support community wellbeing and nature-based work.
We’re also looking toward crowdfunding, not as a “keep the doors open” pitch for a venue that isn’t open yet, but as project funding for the community project we’re carefully building.
Step by step. The right place first. No fake open door. We intend to work closely with Good Things and Good Rhythm (good-things.org.uk), an intention for now, until they confirm in writing.
Soon, not yet

There is no café address to visit this Saturday. No opening hours. No “buy honey today” from a counter that isn’t there yet. If that sentence makes you smile and wait with us, you’re already part of the warmth.
When the day comes, you’ll know. Until then: thank you for reading, for caring, and for letting this dream stay honest.
If this kind of place would matter to you, as a guest, a volunteer, a collaborator or a neighbour, hold the thought. We’ll say when the door is real.
